On July 12, AmeriCorps members Gregory Fobes and Melissa DeStevens-Valenzuela took part in organizing a day at the War Memorial Park for children involved in the summer youth program at the CYO Catholic Charities in Fulton. They are working with nearly 100 participants ages 6-14 in the program and throughout Oswego County.
On July 28 from 8 – 11:30 a.m., The Clubhouse Tavern, 126 W. Second St. will host a free breakfast. Sponsored by Wiltsie Construction and The Clubhouse Tavern and coordinated by a committee co-chaired by Dan and Liz Dorsey of Eagle Beverage, the breakfast is available free of charge and is open to the public.
Villanova University Dean’s List recipients are honored by their college’s respective dean. To qualify, one must be a matriculated full-time student and earn a semester grade point average of at least 3.5.
Tim Shaffer’s name will now go into the record books as the first 410 A-Main winner. Shaffer took the lead on the opening lap of the 30 lap A-Main and never looked back.
SUNY Oswego will offer a trauma studies certificate program designed to serve a wide range of health care workers who encounter people emotionally shocked by war, disaster, abuse or other stressors.
Offered through Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Family Education and Partnerships program, the Summer Safety Presentation will be part of the FEP’s Family Activity Night on July 26 from 5 – 6:30 p.m. at Catholic Charities, 365 W. First St., Fulton.
