Job seekers who are looking to upgrade their skills can now enroll in a new on-line learning system through the Oswego County Workforce New York offices operated by the County Division of Employment and Training.
Residents of Oswego and the American Red Cross will join together for a “Community That Cares” blood drive on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge, 132 W. Fifth St.

A Basic EMT course will begin on August 27. It will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings with one Saturday per month. An Advanced EMT-Critical Care Course will begin on August 23. This course will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, also with several Saturdays.

Stanley C. Thomas Jr., 84, of Oswego, passed away on Monday July 16, 2012.
Last week, some very special young guests arrived in Fulton. A group of youngsters, ages 6-18, will be spending a few weeks enjoying the summer weather of CNY thanks to the Fresh Air Fund. On Tuesday another small group of children will be arriving in Fulton to spend part of their summer vacations here.
Ann Foster, 94, of Fulton, died Saturday July 14, 2012, at Seneca Hill Manor, Volney.
The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department alleges that Justin R. Crowe, 31, of 1175 County Route 11, West Monroe, was spotted at Central City Auto Parts in West Monroe after the business had closed on Saturday.
Police allege he was seen stealing auto parts.
