Brush off your eye patch, grab your parrot and sign up for a Kids’ Pirate Party on July 12 (10 a.m. – noon), July 17 (1 – 3 p.m.) or July 25 (10 a.m. – noon). Fun will abound in Oswego’s “Historic Maritime District.”

The Oswego YMCA has officially announced plans to conduct a major $3,000,000 capital campaign for a new addition and renovations to the YMCA pool located on West First Street in Oswego.

Senator Patty Ritchie’s submitted 16 taped interviews with area veterans, from a Fulton soldier who deactivated landmines with his bayonet on D-Day, to an Air Force officer who interviewed Russian defectors during the Cold War, to the state’s archives as part of her “Voices of America” Project.

The Friends of the Great Bear, a partner with St. Lawrence-Eastern Lake Ontario Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management, recently hosted an Ash tree tagging event at Great Bear Recreational Area.

There will be a free kids fishing class on July 22 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. It will be held at Lake Neahtahwantha, Park at Bullhead Point (where the pier reaches out into the lake), NY 3, west side of Fulton.
