What is a hero?  Good Samaritan, defender, liberator, protector, rescuer – Artist? CNY Arts Center wants artists to explore that question through their art when the organization collaborates with the local Red Cross to present Heroes of the American Red Cross: Arts in Motion.

Congressman Bill Owens announced that he will return more than $95,000 of his 2011 Congressional office budget to the United States Treasury to help pay down the federal deficit. This is the third consecutive year that Owens has returned surplus office funds to the Treasury.

“The goal of our open house is to provide prospective parents and families, as well as community members, public leaders, and schools an opportunity to visit our program, get to know us and one another,” said Heather Familo, food services assistant and the open house coordinator this year.

Charles E. Riley Elementary School students were winners of the drawing for a Lorax book sponsored by the Oswego Bookmobile. Recently, students were encouraged to wear orange to celebrate The Lorax and Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

Charles E. Riley Elementary School student musicians Megan Lagoe, Leanna Restani  and Kaitlyn Grant received a unique opportunity to perform on electronic instruments during the recent “Music in Our Schools Month” concert.
