New Pineville Bridge Is Open

Local and state officials were at hand recently to celebrate the opening of the county Route 48 Bridge, otherwise known as the Pineville Bridge. The new structure replaces a century-old bridge that was removed last fall. It is wider than its predecessor and includes a concrete sidewalk for pedestrians and anglers to safely cross and access nearby public fishing areas.Construction on the county Route 48 bridge, otherwise known as the Pineville Bridge, is now complete. The new bridge opened on Oct. 27 and officials recently attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony where it crosses the Salmon River in the hamlet of Pineville.

Historical Society To Host Lecture On Oswego Industrialist Swits Conde, His Estate ‘Mon Repos’

The Oswego County Historical Society will host a lecture entitled “Restoring History and the Swits Conde Estate: An Architectural Detective Story” on Nov. 13.
