Jogging Suits For Juvenile Diabetes At KPS

Students in the Kingsford Park “Kids Care” Club recently organized a fundraising week of “Jogging Suits for JDRF” (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) in effort to raise awareness and support of fellow classmates who deal with the everyday challanges of managing diabetes.

County Proclaims Dairy Month in June

Oswego County Legislator Barbara Brown recently presented a proclamation designating June as Dairy Month to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County and the Oswego County Dairy Promotion Committee. The wide and varied agriculture of New York State directly and indirectly employs nearly 500,000 people. Dairy farming involves more than 25,000 acres of land and ranks first in agricultural income. The people who live in the tiny Oswego County town are taking on federal officials in an attempt to save their post office. The U.S. Postal Service has been losing money for years. It is looking to close unprofitable postal offices, most of which are in small rural towns.

Cooper Honored by Legislature

The Oswego County Legislature recognized Theresa Cooper with a certificate at their June meeting. Cooper was recently awarded the District 5 New York State Town Clerk of the Year Award by the New York State Town Clerks’ Association. She has served as the Oswego Town Clerk for 15 years and is a member of the Oswego County Town Clerks’ Association, the New York State Town Clerks’ Association, and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. She was recognized for going above and beyond her responsibilities to serve her constituents and all those who visit the Oswego Town Clerk’s Office.
