National Grid Transmission Line Project Under Way

Let’s Have a Good Old Summertime!

The Oswego County Historical Society has scheduled the “Good Old Summertime Victorian Picnic” for Sunday, June 12, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the lawn of the Richardson-Bates House Museum, 135 E. Third St., Oswego. Shown discussing plans for the event, from left, are Board of Trustees member Peg McKinstry, AmeriCorps volunteer Kristian Woolley, and event chairperson Lyn Patterson. The lunch auction part of the event will be held at 2 p.m.  Other picnic activities will include family games, old-fashioned music, and lots of fun! For more information contact chairperson Patterson, phone 343-2343 or museum, phone 343-1342.The highlight of the picnic will be a “Lunch-in-a-Basket” auction at 2 p.m. Professional auctioneer Ted Sivers has volunteered to run this exciting event and many local businesses and groups will provide the wonderful lunches for four people to be auctioned off.

Mexico Point Park in Oswego County is a perfect place for young and old to skip stones, walk the beach, swim, and enjoy the beautiful expanse of Lake Ontario. Hands-on art, face painting, a stone-skipping contest, and a pinata are just part of the fun and learning that will take place Sunday, June 5 at Mexico Point Park at the mouth of the Little Salmon River on Lake Ontario.

Mexico Elementary Students Crochet Preemie Hats for Oswego Hospital

Premature babies born at Oswego Hospital will benefit from a crafty group of Mexico Elementary School fourth graders that crocheted some 80 hats for the newborns. Among the students who made the hats from left are, Nathaneal Galluzzo, Sabrina Dufrane, Alyssa David, Biannca Burrows, Kimberly Heagerty, Raymond Williamson, Jonathan Sciarabba and Ashley Clement.In the back row from the left are Sarah Weigelt, Oswego Health Director of Volunteers and Auxiliary; Gina Kristiansen, RN; Lisa Fleming and Carolee McCoy, RN.Premature babies born at Oswego Hospital will benefit from a crafty group of Mexico Elementary School students that crocheted some 80 hats for the newborns.
