The Oswego Public Library sends along this excerpt from Oswego’s newspaper, the Oswego Commercial Times, announcing the start of the Civil War as Confederate forces attacked Fort Sumter in South Carolina.
This first time the event will he held May 20 and 21 at Thunder Island Oasis.

I just rescued a tiny kitten who was dropped in my front yard, and it’s Saturday afternoon so my vet is not open. She seems fairly healthy except that her eyes are all runny and swollen looking. Is there any thing I can do to help her until I can call the vet on Monday morning?

The fair participants could view actual medical images of various body parts and learn more about the department’s image gently program, which promotes parent awareness. The students could also look through a microscope and see red and white blood cells, as well as look at bacteria growth.

Dolores Irene Dempsey, 81, of Oswego, formerly of Fulton, passed away Saturday after a courageous battle with cancer.
Harrison Wilde is the featured artist this month (April) at the Oswego Public Library’s Art Gallery. One critic hailed his work because of “his keen eye that created wonderful compositions, whether he was taking photos of local scenes, or doing nature photography.” The end results were often times unique depictions of familiar scenes.
