Dr. Joanne Scandale, president of the Brain Injury Coalition of CNY spoke to a class at CCC in Fulton on Brain Injury 101. More presentations and activities are planned for Wednesday and Thursday this week between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Penny Kimball, an Oswego County artist, will return to the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center to teach Wood Carving in the Round as part of the Center’s Nature Inspires series. This hands-on class will be on April 17 and will begin at 2 p.m.

Shellie Taylor, R.D., first shared with the students that creatures such sharks can grow new teeth; lizards can even grow up to 200 new teeth in a year. “But once we have our adult teeth in, humans can’t grow new ones,” said Taylor. “That’s why we have to make sure that we take care of our teeth.”

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District recently held its district-wide Battle of the Books competition. Battle of the Books is a reading an initiative that challenges students’ reading comprehension skills during a series of competitions.
