Lanigan fourth graders devised some creative assignments for a recent science fair. Projects ranged from your traditional solar system to an experiment testing which brand of nail polish lasts the longest. Meghan Galvin got her inspiration while eating potato chips.

Lanigan first and fourth graders and their families attended a Learning Café for tips and resources on understanding the purpose of homework recently. The event was hosted by math instructional coach Lynnette DePoint, ELA instructional coach Gina Salerno and Principal Jeff Hendrickson.

Although small in stature, students at Lura M. Sharp Elementary School are putting on a larger-than-life performance as “Annie Kids” takes the stage later this month. The show, under the direction of music teacher Stacey Landas, is a spin on the classic story of little orphan Annie.

The seventh annual School House 5K Run/Walk has been set for March 8 with registration beginning at 11 a.m. and running until 12:15 p.m. The kid’s fun run will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the 5K Race/Walk will start at 1 p.m. The race is held as a fundraiser for the Pulaski Marching Band.

Residents at Michaud Residential Health Services enjoyed a special preview performance by the G. Ray Bodley High School – Quirk’s Players, of the upcoming production of the Tony award winning musical and hit movie “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”

The Lucky Dog Dinner, to benefit the Oswego Animal Shelter Surgical Suite will be held on March 14. The hours will be from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Oswego Moose Lodge. A turkey dinner will be available for $10 each.

Water customers in the villages of Sandy Creek and Lacona are being advised to open cupboard doors under their sinks and to leave a trickle of water running over night.

Considered by many to be the perfect musical comedy, the John C. Birdlebough High School drama club will present “Guys and Dolls” on March 12-14. Show times are scheduled for 4 p.m. on March 12; 7:30 p.m. on March 13; and 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on March 14.
