Sandy Creek mock trial team captures countywide title, advances to regionals

Sandy Creek High School students took their knowledge from the classroom to the courtroom, where they earned first place in the local mock trial competition on April 8. The program is a statewide initiative in its 33rd year and provides students in ninth through 12th grades with an opportunity to learn about the judicial system via hands-on experience.

The Oswego City Police Department has received information that the reported missing person, Charles J. Rice, was seen on Tuesday April 8, in the city of Auburn. It is believed he boarded a CENTRO bus around 2 p.m. in Auburn and traveled to the city of Syracuse. Anyone with information on Rice’s location is urged to contact police at 315-343-1212.

The Pulaski High School student government is organizing a Pulaski Academy and Central Schools Earth Day Cleanup on April 26 beginning at 10 a.m. at South Park in the village. Interested volunteers should assemble in the park, at the corner of Jefferson and Lake streets in Pulaski, to receive instructions and assignment areas for the cleanup.

Registered Sex Offender Charged In Sexual Assault

On April 7, Earl C. Dedeaux, 41, of West Second Street, Fulton, was arrested after an investigation by the Fulton Police Department and charged with the following crimes: Attempt to Commit Crime/Rape 1st; Strangulation 2nd; Assault 2nd; and Unlawful Imprisonment 1st. He is accused of attempting to forcibly engage in sexual intercourse with the victim.
