The scheduled rejuvenation of SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Biological Field Station has become a rebirth, thanks to plans for a new, larger, greener building to replace the wood-frame structure that has housed the research and educational headquarters for 46 years.
SUNY Oswego audio production students, the recording lab supervisor and faculty members have helped rock Oswego Middle School since last fall, working with a music teacher and eighth-graders to roll out 13 bands and an in-school recording company, Buc Records — all the while showing the students the benefits of college and careers.

While students from three kindergarten classes were busy writing letters to Santa to fill their Christmas dreams, OYC members were busy “helping” the elves with responses. This is the third year that OYC has participated in “Letters to Santa.”
During this light-hearted service, The Rev. Rick Klafehn will deliver a specially written worship service that will use many of the kind of rhyming phrases made famous by Dr. Seuss. The service is open to the public. Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to bring a Dr. Seuss character toy and to wear items such as the hat worn in the popular book, “The Cat in the Hat.”
The winners of the two tattoo gift certificates will be drawn during the Oz home opener on Saturday, March 10, vs. the Kingston Derby Girls in the Oswego YMCA Armory.
