APW Middle School Students Selected for All-County Chorus

Eight sixth grade students from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Middle School were selected to attend the All-County Chorus Competition held at Sandy Creek on November 4th and 5th. The students, pictured left to right are: Hannah Porter, Brittni Metcalf, Abby Mattison, Kassi Haywood, Allyssa Smith, Sarah Britton, and Kerri Muckey. Not available for the photo was Tyler Crandall. Fulton YMCA Hosts ‘The Chocolate War,’ An Anti-Bullying Puppet Show

Episodes of bullying are rarely confined to one place. Something that starts in the playground often spills over into the community - and vice versa. Any successful approach to bullying must involve the whole community.  The Fulton Family YMCA brought in the Open Hand Theater who performed the Chocolate War which tackled the issue of bullying and conflict resolution in this delightful fantasy production.  We had about 50+ youth who attended this event along with their parents.  Our goal was to help educate our youth about “bullying” and to help them learn how to take positive steps to resolve their differences, said Kim McPherson, Program Director of the Fulton Family YMCA. The show was sponsored by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau. The Fulton Family YMCA brought in the Open Hand Theater who performed the Chocolate War which tackled the issue of bullying and conflict resolution in this delightful fantasy production.
