Rotarians Hear Former Fultonian’s Story

Mrs. and Dr. Paul Barner, left and center, recently attended the Fulton Noon Rotary Club as a guest of Rotarian Alan Roth.  Dr. Barner is a native of Fulton.  After obtaining his education, Dr. Barner became a missionary in the Philippines, where is met his wife, Elvie.  Both Mrs. Barner and her husband are educators. Fifteen years ago they founded a private school in Davo City, Philippines.  The present enrollment is 500 students from K-12th grade.  The school is supported entirely by donations they receive from churches and others.  The Rotarians found it very interesting to see what a young Central New Yorker has accomplished in another country.Dr. Barner is a native of Fulton. After obtaining his education, Dr. Barner became a missionary in the Philippines.

Tennis Program Has Another Successful Season in Oswego County

The US Tennis Association’s Summer Tennis Program, offered by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, Division of Parks and Recreation, has experienced its most successful summer to date by working with more than 1,200 children.
