The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is partnering with the city of Oswego to host the 30th annual tree lighting event at Oswego Civic Plaza from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 25. The theme of this year’s tree-lighting is “An Oswego Christmas.”
Fulton Police Officer Jeremy Hutchinson, assigned as the School Resource Officer at G. Ray Bodley High School, recently visited freshman and sophomores who are taking the Seminar course. He discussed cyber-bullying, laws about taking photos, his role as an STP and he answered questions from the students.

Colleges of Distinction recently named SUNY Oswego to its 2017-18 listing, citing such character-building opportunities at the college as undergraduate research, a wide variety of internships and co-ops, community service and alternative breaks, intensive writing courses and tutoring, interdisciplinary programs, and an array of international learning options.
Oswego County Hospice continues to participate in the We Honor Veterans program established by Veterans Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, which is committed to delivering quality hospice care to the men and women who have served and fought for our country.
On December 2, Santa will be coming to the Oswego Public Library. This is an opportunity to have your children visit with Santa and for you to take a photograph of them with Santa. Holiday snacks and crafts to make will be available during Santa’s visit.
The fall master of art in studio arts exhibition will start Nov. 21 and continue Nov. 28 to Dec. 3 in Tyler Art Gallery, highlighting the portfolio work of three candidates for December graduation. An artists’ reception for the three graduate students — Suzanne Gaffney Beason, Jingyuan Duan and Sharon Bottle Souva — will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the gallery.
The U.S. Army’s 10th Mountain Division Band from Fort Drum and the Fulton Community Band will perform a free concert in honor of Veterans Day on Nov. 18, sponsored by the Fulton Music Association. The concert is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the G. Ray Bodley High School auditorium.
St. Luke Health Services in Oswego will host a workshop featuring the St. Luke Family of Caring Palliative Care Team, led by Dr. Renante Ignacio, MD., as they discuss advance care planning and advanced directives. The workshop will take place on November 15 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Large Conference Room at St. Luke. The workshop is free of charge and the public is invited to attend.
