OCO’s SAF Program, Community Partners Recognize 30th Anniversary of Domestic Violence Awareness Month

30 years ago, victim service providers and survivors of domestic violence launched a nationwide effort to raise awareness of the epidemic of domestic violence. Over the last three decades, much progress has been made to support domestic violence victims and survivors, to hold abuser accountable, and to create and update legislation to further those goals.

Richardson-Bates House Museum Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Classic Movie Night

The Oswego County Historical Society proudly presents a Classic Movie Night event in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Richardson-Bates House Museum. The popular Alfred Hitchcock classic film “Notorious” will be featured on October 12 at 7 p.m. in the historic landmark Oswego Theatre at 138 W. To make that dream come true Oswego County Opportunities has launched “Sleep Tight,” a proactive initiative to stop the spread of insect pests like bed bugs.

Student-athletes again plan to rake leaves for senior citizens within the city of Oswego on Nov. 5. In its 13th year at SUNY Oswego, the project is part of an annual statewide community service project by Student-Athlete Advisory Council chapters at some SUNY Athletic Conference colleges. SAAC’s mission is to generate a student-athlete voice among Oswego’s intercollegiate teams and to enhance school spirit within athletics.
