Members of the Lake City Police Club presented Carolyn Handville, coordinator of Oswego County Opportunities Cancer Services Program with a donation in support of the program. Members of the Oswego Police Department raised funds as part of their participation in No Shave November.
As part of March For Meals campaign Oswego County Opportunities Nutrition Services will host a Sip and Paint fundraiser on March 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Bonnie’s Sip and Paint, 113 Schuyler St. Bonnie’s will supply the art supplies and instruction.
SUNY Oswego has earned acclaim and national rankings for its emphasis on study abroad, and aims to continue building on its variety and depth of offerings. The college supports approximately 20 of these shorter-term faculty-led programs any given year, said Joshua McKeown, associate provost for international education and programs.
High school students in the Advanced Metal Manufacturing program at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation recently learned how professionals form, shape and cut metal during a tour of Novelis’ Oswego facility.
The week of March 20 has been named Community Champions Week and OCO is inviting local officials to volunteer their time to assist with OCO’s Meals on Wheels program or help serve meals at OCO’s Dining and Activity Centers.
The Oswego Lions Club will host the sixth annual Rivers Edge handmade Craft Show on June 11. The event will take place where the beautiful Oswego River and Lake Ontario meet. Hours for the craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Rudy’s Lakeside Drive-in will launch this year’s Oswego County Salvation Army’s Guest Chef Dinners with a sampling of its favorite foods on March 13, with dining room and takeout service from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The Hannibal High School Spanish Club will host an afternoon of family fun when the circus comes to town. Billy Martin’s Cole All-Star Circus will perform at 1 p.m. March 11 in Fairley Elementary School’s gymnasium.
The snow is melting and the vernal pools are filling up at the Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center. And plants and animals are waking up after their dormant winter period. The center will offer two programs welcoming the spring season: a Young Man Spring Walk and Hooting with Owls.
