Alec Barber of Parish is slated to graduate in 2017 from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown High School and intends to enroll in the mechanical engineering technology (BS) program.

The Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation will host its annual Regional Awareness Program for Young Drivers on March 29 at 7 p.m. RAP is an initiative that occurs every year in Oswego County with the goal of educating young people on the dangers of distracted driving.

More than just an academic honor, the National Honor Society induction recognizes four precepts that students must possess for consideration into the organization; these four principles consist of scholarship, leadership, character and service.

Parents with children who live in the district and who will be 4 years old by Dec. 1, 2017, are eligible to apply.

Thanks to the generosity of Novelis employees that tradition continued as this year’s workplace campaign, combined with a donor match from Novelis corporate, raised $110,648 in support of United Way.

They were presented with longevity awards for their loyal service to OCO and its consumers.

State Senator Patty Ritchie recently visited Oswego County’s “P-TECH” program, an initiative focused on advanced manufacturing that’s helping to give students a head start when it comes to their future careers.

The mayor spoke of some of the city’s past struggles, but concentrated mainly on present accomplishments, such as the library progress, Fulton Block Builders, Friends of Fulton Parks, the lake restoration and Fulton Foot Paths.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented Dale MacDonald with a certificate of appreciation for his 15 years of service.
