Oswego County landowners have until Jan. 31, to submit a request to include agricultural land in the Oswego County Agricultural District. Those with questions regarding the process or needing an application may call Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County at 963-7286.
Mia and Maverick are an inseparable pair. Mia is more outgoing with people and Maverick will take more time to warm up but he will come around. They are about one and half years old, friendly, quiet, and loving. They like to cuddle together and they both like to be petted and shown love.
The Oswego City School District is now planning for the upcoming kindergarten class for the fall of 2017. If you have a child that will turn five years old on or before December 1, 2017, you can register that child for the fall of 2017.
On February 18 at 1:30 p.m. the SUNY Oswego’s Latino Student Union will be offering a reading hour in both English and Spanish. They will be featuring The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. A time of arts and crafts will be included.
Students honored on the Provost’s List have been enrolled part-time and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better.
The Deans’ List recognizes students who received a grade point average of 3.3 to 3.79. Oswego students receiving a GPA of 3.8 to 4.0 earn President’s List recognition.
As this column is posted, the annual Salmon River Winter festival in Pulaski will be under way. Half-Shire is again a major sponsor, and this year we are sponsoring the first movie on Friday night the 27th at the Kallet Theater. The movie, “Eight Below,” will be shown for free and the public is welcome for this family oriented night at the movies.
Jason Santiago, Oswego Health vice president and chief operating officer of The Manor at Seneca Hill, recently welcomed State Senator Patty Ritchie for a tour of the skilled nursing facility. Senator Ritchie spoke with the residents and visited The Manor’s Adult Day Health Services program.
The G. Ray Bodley Class of 1987’s 30th reunion is planned for July 28. An icebreaker will be held at the Battle Island Golf Course from 7 – 11 p.m.
