The SUNY Oswego planetarium will present “The Weird Lives of Close Binary Stars” at 7 p.m. every Sunday during January. The planetarium’s director, Dr. Scott Roby of the college’s physics department, will explore unresolved binary stars — two stars orbiting each other, which are common sights in the night sky.

Any residents of Oswego that would like to make their food dollars go farther may order January Food $en$e packages until noon on January 13. All Oswego area residents may use the program.

Registrations for the upcoming Fulton Little League season will be held in the cafeteria area of the Fulton War Memorial on January 14 (8 a.m. – 1 p.m.), January 21 (1 – 6 p.m.) and January 28 (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.).

Central Square School District Board of Education President Scott Duggleby is pleased to announce that the board has approved the appointment of Thomas J. Colabufo as the new CSSD superintendent.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.

Students graduating from Oswego City School District in 2017 are invited to apply for scholarships or an occupational education award offered by the Oswego Rotary Club.

The students, staff and Home and School organization of Kingsford Park Elementary School pulled together again this year, with the gifts of several generous donors, to provide a happy holiday for 40 families in need, as part of the Annual Kingsford Park Holiday Giving Project.
