The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego is pleased to present Dr. Terrence Hammill, former chair of the SUNY Oswego Biology Department, two-term mayor of the city of Oswego and current chairman of the Port of Oswego Authority Board of Directors, as the final installment of this year’s History Lecture Series.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, President Linda Rossiter introduced Dick and Nanee Drosse of the Friends of Great Bear. The Drosses spoke of efforts to purchase the portion of the tract that is for sale and to maintain the area as forever wild.
Students in Mary Ryan and Lorie Trump’s work study group in CiTi’s Safe Trusting Restorative Instructional and Vocational Environment (STRIVE) program aim to work alongside their Career and Technical Education peers in the Culinary Arts program to achieve a thriving composting program and grow fresh produce for students and community members.
In collaboration with the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation, students in Mary Paye’s kindergarten class were connected to the museum through the Dino Dig videoconference.

The alternative education program, offered through the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation, now has a small cooking area, equipped with one range and three preparation stations and cooking stations, which include: pots, pans, a griddle and utensils.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, the Oswego Public Library has one adult and one child ticket to the Willy Wonka spectacular sponsored by Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club, the high school Interact Club, and the Oswego County Humane Society.
The physicians and staff of Oswego Health will take part in activities throughout October that promote national Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Perhaps the most important action community members can take is to encourage the women they know to undergo a mammogram.
Evan Kurtz recently gave a presentation to the Fulton Noon Rotary Club on his new company. He is an expert on long-range radar imaging from space. His presentation was amazing to the Rotarians.
On October 16, a pancake breakfast will be held at Lake City Lodge 127 located at 765 E. Seneca St. The hours will be from 8 a.m. until noon.
On September 27, ARISE celebrated 20 years of service in Oswego County with a recognition event at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center.
