First grade students at Fairgrieve Elementary School celebrated reading in style with their favorite “best buddy” at the annual Teddy Bear Picnic. The event was a well-deserved reward for their hard work in school this year.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented Sheryl Bush with a certificate of appreciation for her 30 years of service.

Despite the Internet, cell phones, email and modern communications, every year whole regions find themselves in the dark. Tornadoes, fires, storms, ice and even the occasional cutting of fiber optic cables leave people without the means to communicate. In these cases, the one consistent service that has never failed has been Amateur Radio.

The Oswego County Legislature recognized Oswego County Opportunities for its dedication and commitment to county residents as the agency marks its 50th anniversary. The organization began in 1966 as the Community Action Agency, a product of President Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty campaign.

Emergency Medical Services providers throughout Oswego County were recognized recently for their outstanding service in 2015 at the annual Emergency Medical Services Awards Banquet at the Oasis at Thunder Island in Fulton.

The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, other states and 25 countries.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meeting, a donation was presented to Sarah Conley, representing Friends of the Fulton Public Library.
