April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). This year’s campaign focuses on ways that individuals, communities, and the private sector can help prevent sexual violence. This year, SAAM is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the theme “Prevention is Possible.”
The annual Spring Oswego Community Youth Orchestra Concert will be held on Sunday, April 10, in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom of SUNY Oswego at 7 p.m. OCYO is comprised of local elite student musicians grades 7-12. Tickets are $5, advance tickets available from OCYO members, or at the door.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian LaVerne DeLand introduced Marie Mankiewicz and Brittney Jerred who have been working to establish a cohesive plan, with community support, to link Fulton’s eight walking trails and 12 city parks. The Fulton Community Revitalization Corp, a non-profit, will be the lead agency for grants.
Karen Borek of Modern Miss Beauty Salon in Fulton presented OCO Development Coordinator Margaret Barclay with a donation of $50 in recognition of OCO’s 50th Anniversary. Borek is also celebrating a milestone.

Tim Ames’ painting, “Cape Cod Victorian,” has been juried into the 7th International Open Online Exhibition of The International Society of Acrylic Painters. This is the second time his work has been chosen for this honor.

The Phoenix Central School District will host the event once again, providing exceptional students with an opportunity to compete in various events, from adapted races to shotput and everything in between. Student athletes representing all nine school districts in the county as well as the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation will participate in a day of games, fun, friendship and competition.
