As students head back to school, State Senator Patty Ritchie is announcing $100,000 in special funding she has secured to help support music and band programs in districts throughout Central and Northern New York.

St. Luke Health Services is pleased to introduce Deacon John Woloszyn who has assumed a new role for the healthcare provider as Pastoral Care Coordinator. As the Pastoral Care Coordinator, Deacon Woloszyn will minister to the spiritual needs of residents, families and staff.

Michele Gay, whose daughter lost her life in the Sandy Hook school shootings, will speak as an advocate for improved school safety and security in the nation’s schools at 4 p.m. Sept. 17, in SUNY Oswego’s Marano Campus Center auditorium.

CNY Arts Center will be shining the spotlight on two local authors, September 13 at 6 p.m. at 11 River Glen Drive, on the Cayuga Community College campus in Fulton. Kendra Matott’s first book “Ringleader” will be featured alongside “Adirondack Adventures” written by Roy Reehil.

State Senator Patty Ritchie is asking seniors to mark their calendars for her annual Senior Health and Wellness Fairs, which will take place in September and October in Oswego, St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties.

The next full board meeting of the Workforce Development Board of Oswego County will be held Sept. 23, at 8 a.m. in 118A Rich Hall at SUNY Oswego.

The Oswego County Salvation Army and the Price Chopper stores in Oswego and Fulton are partnering to help children start the school year prepared to succeed. Each Price Chopper store will have an in-store display to encourage shoppers to purchase school items while shopping in the store.

Zonta Club of Oswego invites the greater Oswego Community to join us as we celebrate and recognize Julie Chetney with the Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award. Chetney was selected based on her significant contributions to her community through her time, actions, talents and dedication.
