North Volney Methodist Church will hold a Fall Fun Day on October 3 on the church grounds. There will be games for the children with prizes for all, food and drawings for themed baskets. In addition, there will be a magic show from 11 a.m. – noon, followed by a petting zoo from noon – 2 p.m. with 20 different animals.
The 29th annual ALANA Student Leadership Conference at SUNY Oswego, a weeklong multicultural celebration starting Sept. 19, will feature the ever-popular fashion show, a high-energy motivational speaker, leadership workshops, a gala banquet and a concluding performance by the Williamsburg Salsa Orchestra. With a theme this year of “Empowerment for the Future,” ALANA annually encourages student leadership, multicultural learning and an atmosphere of mutual understanding at SUNY Oswego.

Not-for- profit organizations have until Nov. 6 to apply for youth development program grants through the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The Youth Bureau anticipates that limited state grant funding will be available for youth development programs in 2016.

At a recent Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Jeanne Cieszeski introduced Chris Proto and Anne Clarke from Reach Work Camp. They gave a presentation on the camp whose goal it is to create spiritual mission trips for junior high and high school students which allows the youth to serve families in need through home repairs.
Adopt me please, I can’t stay in the foster home I’m in right now because my foster mom has two small Chihuahuas and I don’t like them.
