At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Linda Rossiter introduced Mary Beth Hill, Fulton Program Coordinator for Blessings in a Backpack. Hill spoke to the club about this national organization that has local service in Oswego and Fulton. They send food home to those elementary or Pre-K children in need, when the children are not in school, but home on weekends or breaks.
The Oswego Lions Club will host The fourth annual River’s Edge “handmade” Craft Show on June 7. The event will take place where the beautiful Oswego River and Lake Ontario meet. The Lions are looking for vendors that do “handmade crafts” for the show.
Oswego County Sheriff Reuel Todd announced that four boating safety courses will be held beginning in May. There is no charge for the training.
Students enrolled in the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation’s Construction Technology class recently discussed career opportunities and the occupational outlook of carpentry with a professional in the field.
John M. Henry, president of Mitchell’s Speedway Press, Oswego, recently returned from attending the executive board meeting of the National Print Owners Association while directing its spring conference in Orlando. Henry is the board member in charge of putting on the annual event, which drew printing company owners from across North America and from several foreign countries.

This free annual event will be held on April 26 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge.
On April 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Licatese Chiropractic will host a special patient appreciation day in support of Youth Programming at the Oswego YMCA. Proceeds will go directly toward supporting the Oswego YMCA’s Youth Splash and Dash training program.
Oswego High School artists captured three of the top four prizes recently at the 20th Annual Oswego County Student Art Competition at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center in Pulaski. According to Oswego High School art teacher Melissa Martin, this may have been the best showing the school’s artists have ever had in the history of the competition.
