Rotarians Learn About Blessings in a Backpack

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, Rotarian Linda Rossiter introduced Mary Beth Hill, Fulton Program Coordinator for Blessings in a Backpack. Hill spoke to the club about this national organization that has local service in Oswego and Fulton. They send food home to those elementary or Pre-K children in need, when the children are not in school, but home on weekends or breaks.

Henry, president of Mitchell’s Speedway Press, Oswego, recently returned from attending the executive board meeting of the National Print Owners Association while directing its spring conference in Orlando. Henry is the board member in charge of putting on the annual event, which drew printing company owners from across North America and from several foreign countries.

Free Drawing for iPod, Local Businesses Donate to Raffle Baskets for the SAFE Fair

A blue Apple iPod Touch, clear case and $15 iTunes Gift Card will be given away at the SAFE Fair on April 26. To enter, youth aged 21 and under visit any eight exhibits to learn more about drugs, addiction, treatment, prevention and healthy options at the SAFE Fair. This free annual event will be held on April 26 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Oswego Elks Lodge.

Oswego Students Earn Top Awards at Oswego County Student Art Competition

Oswego High School artists captured three of the top four prizes recently at the 20th Annual Oswego County Student Art Competition at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center in Pulaski. According to Oswego High School art teacher Melissa Martin, this may have been the best showing the school’s artists have ever had in the history of the competition.
