The United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Salute to Leadership Giving and Volunteers Reception held recently was a celebration of many sorts. The reception, which combined the agency’ annual meeting with the leadership reception, gave members of the United Way’s campaign cabinet and board of directors a chance to personally thank individuals that contribute to the impact of the United Way within the community.

For nearly a year, Pulaski High School science teacher Jamie Hefti has been a member of a prestigious group of New York state educators dedicated to sharing ideas and experiences to better science, technology, engineering and math instruction.

Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District welcomed six new members to the National Junior Honor Society recently. The traditional candle lighting service was followed by Lorraine Sampson (a current NJHS member) who sang “I Was Here” by Beyonce Knowles.

Farmers will learn how to connect with customers and potential customers online by improving their farms web presence. There will be two workshops offered, in the morning we’ll be covering how to build and launch a farm website, and in the afternoon we’ll discuss using social media platforms to promote a farm operation.

Set for 6:30 – 8 p.m. April 23 in the GRB auditorium and technology labs, community members are invited to explore some of the unique learning opportunities available to students within the Fulton City School District.

Hannibal Dollars for Scholars will host a pulled pork barbecue on April 19 at the Hannibal American Legion on Rochester Street. The BBQ will run from noon until 3:30 p.m. or until sold out. The price of $9 includes pulled pork with a kaiser roll, cole slaw, salt potatoes, baked beans and dessert.

Port City Chiropractic, P.C. has added some real support to this year’s St. Luke “Bundle of Bucks” Charity Raffle event. Dr. Ed Galvin Jr. at Port City Chiropractic has donated a Chiroflow Premium Watebase pillow; one of the many valuable prizes to be awarded during the raffle drawing party on May 9 at the Oswego Elks Lodge.
