SUNY Oswego-based NPR affiliate WRVO was recently presented with state resolutions honoring the station for receiving the 2014 regional Edward R. Murrow Award. The local station received the award for its 51-minute documentary titled “New York in the World.” The documentary showcases many different parts of New York, including fashion in New York City and unions in Buffalo.
“This is a great opportunity for people to come out and enjoy a good meal, visit with friends and support the historical society,” said Kathy Darrow, vice president of the Cleveland Historical Society. “And, for those who don’t want to miss the SU Orangemen take on Clemson, the Legion will have a big screen TV for the game.”
The Oswego County Board of Realtors recently presented Karen Merrill, coordinator of Oswego County Opportunities’ PATH program, with a check in support of the programs’ efforts of helping area youth. Each year, the Oswego County Board of Realtors organizes a fundraiser for the PATH program.
To achieve the Dean’s List, each student must be full-time carrying 12 or more graded credits for the semester with a grade point average of 3.5 or above.
The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 391 students who excelled academically in the Fall 2014 semester to the SUNY Potsdam Dean’s List.
Oswego Players’ director Troy Pepper has announced the cast of the upcoming production of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” (female version). Cast in the leading roles of Florence Unger and Olive Madison are Stephanie Johnson and Julia Preston-Fulton.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on January 25, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be meatloaf, mashed potatoes, vegetable, bread and dessert.
The instructor, Kathy Fenlon, will demonstrate how to make three different styles of a zippered pouch and three different easy ways to put in a zipper. Once students learn the zipper installation techniques, they can use these skills with many different projects!

The Oswego Public Library will not be getting IRS Instruction books or any forms besides the standard 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ. We were made aware of this in an email from the IRS this afternoon (Jan. 9).
