The U.S. Small Business Administration honored the 15 participating companies in its Emerging Leaders Initiative at a graduation ceremony at SUNY ESF on November 5. Included in the group was Theresa Himes, president and CEO Bosco and Geers Food Market LTD., Oswego.
Oswego Middle School eighth grade student Sydney Terpening was recently named the recipient of a $100 scholarship from the United States Achievement Academy. Terpening, is the daughter of Ellery and Traci Terpening.
Since 2007, the Oswego County Department of Solid Waste, and St. Pauly Textile have worked together to recycle unwanted clothing and textile items. As a result, items are collected in St. Pauly collection sheds at all five Oswego County transfer stations and recycling drop-off facilities. Collection sheds are located at the Bristol Hill, Hannibal, Hastings, Oswego, and Pulaski transfer stations.

Diane Chepko-Sade is teaching two fused glass classes at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W, First St. One class will meet on December 5 from 10 a.m. to noon. The other will meet on December 7 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Oswego Elks Lodge #271 will host a spaghetti dinner to benefit the Oswego High School Lady Buccaneer Softball Team on November 18 from 4:30 until 7 p.m. The dinner will feature food from some of Oswego finest businesses.
Air Force Airman Dustin T. Ouellette graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2014 graduate of Hannibal High School in Hannibal.
The Circus Kids’ Production Company visited Leighton Elementary School recently to work with students during physical education classes. Leighton Home and School sponsored the event for the 15th consecutive year.
