The Oswego County Health Department will hold a rabies clinic for cats, dogs, and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 at the Bristol Hill solid waste facility, 3125 State Route 3, Volney. New York State law requires that all cats, dogs, and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies.
The Pulaski Historical Society will have a “Cleaning the Attic” yard sale in the newly expanded Carriage House on Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The historical society is seeking donated items (except clothing and large furniture) from members, residents and the community.
The Fulton Noon Rotarians were made aware in late winter that the two community food pantries, one at the Salvation Army and one at Catholic Charities, were in need of more food supplies than were being donated. The Rotarians took action and each Rotarian donated funds each week to the two organizations to help them buy food.
The bone density screenings are open to the public and free of charge. The screening test is easy to do and only takes a few minutes to complete. Michaud and St. Luke nurses will be available to discuss the screening results and answer health-related questions.

The AmeriCorps Summer Youth Activities program continues in Oswego’s parks this summer. The program will run through August 22. The goal of the program is to help give local youth opportunities to become physically active and make healthy nutritional choices.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee presented Sandra Canfield with a certificate of appreciation for her 30 years of service. Canfield is a caseworker with the Oswego County Department of Social Services.
Sponsors and producing organizations gathered recently to promote the Great Rope Play. It will be presented one performance only on August 2 at 6 p.m. on the Fort Ontario Parade Grounds. Audiences are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
