Earth Week, organized by the Oswego County Environmental Management Council, was from April 25 to May 4.
The Oswego Children’s Theater is looking for many more than a few good actors to participate in its upcoming production of “Shrek the Musical.” Auditions are scheduled for May 13 from 5 – 8 p.m. and May 16 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the New Haven Congregational Church, Route 104 east between Oswego and Mexico.
At total of 23 bags of litter, one tire, several large metal signs and one broken weed trimmer were collected and properly disposed of. Students cleaned an area approximately equal to one mile on the Route 57 stretch.

The Oswego County Youth Works Program is recruiting for the 2014 Summer Youth Employment Program. This year’s SYEP is slated to run from July 7 through Aug. 15, with most youth working 25 hours per week.
I was petting my dog Scooby last night and felt this odd little lump thing on his neck. When I took a closer look, oh gross, it was a tick. I had never seen one on him before. I didn’t think they even started before the summer. So I tried putting alcohol on the little bugger to make him back out and that didn’t work at all.

Local youngsters can learn more about bike safety and be properly fit with a free bike helmet during the Fulton Bike Rodeo to be held May 31 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the Fulton Community Center. This free event will also offer drawings for a free new bike, air hop rides, bike registrations, food and more.
