The Oswego County Board of Realtors recently presented Karen Merrill, coordinator of Oswego County Opportunities’ PATH program with a check in support of the programs’ efforts of helping area youth. Each year, the Oswego County Board of Realtors organizes a fundraiser for the PATH program.
The list recognizes those who participate in at least 12 hours of academic work and achieve a semester grade point average within the range of 3.50 to 3.99.
The Middle School Student Council, who sponsors a fall and spring dance for middle school students, used the fall dance to help collect food items for the drive by collecting items at the door prior to the dance.
The Phoenix Central School District Dollars for Scholars Chapter has partnered with Scholarship America® and CollegeWeekLive to offer students, parents and others in Phoenix a convenient way to receive relevant and timely information from national experts on financing education beyond high school.
Students at Sandy Creek Middle School in grades 5-8 competed on December 16 in an early round of the Scripps Spelling Bee. After several re-scheduled dates due to adverse weather in the district, the contest proved to be a real barn-burner with two students slugging it out for the title of top speller in the school.

The Guidance Department at JCB has compiled a list of Financial Aid workshops available at local colleges and universities.
New York Army and Air National Guard military honor guards performed military funeral services 11,585 times in 2013 for deceased veterans of the Army and Air Force. The New York National Guard had expected that its teams would perform 11,560 ceremonies by January 1, 2014.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on January 26, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be chicken and biscuits, mashed potatoes, vegetable and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
Former Oswego Head Start Pre-K student Ayanna Gonzalez recently returned to the center. She read to a group of current Head Start Pre-K children.
