The Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum will hold the first in a series of monthly open house events from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 19. Michael Riordan, board president, will speak about the history of the B.F. Gladding Corporation from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Meghan Yost, a junior from Mexico, is among the 346 students named to the fall semester dean’s list at Heidelberg University, according to Provost Dr. David Weininger.

The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 412 students who excelled academically in the Fall 2013 semester to the Dean’s List.

The Oswego County Veteran’s Museum will hold a meeting Monday January 20 at 6 p.m. It will be held at VFW Post 5885 on Bronson Street in Oswego.

This past October, pastoral candidates were narrowed down and interviewed. The selection process came to a close this fall with an invitation to Pastor Daniel Groh (formerly of the Lagrangeville Alliance Church) – an invitation he and his family accepted.

Major General Patrick A. Murphy, The Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces the promotion of members of the New York Army National Guard in recognition of their capability for additional responsibility and leadership.

The SUNY Potsdam students were honored for earning top marks by President Dr. Dennis L. Hefner.

The top three finishers advancing to the regional competition are Megan Albright (sixth grade) in first place, Jarreau Hoskins (fifth grade) in second and fourth grader Jason Zhang.

If you hold a Technician License and would like to upgrade to General, this class will get you there. This 10-week class will be held at the County Building in Fulton (across from Mimi’s) starting January 27.
