Families in Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Relatives Raising Relatives program Family Education and Partnership program, and Family Support Services recently gathered for a family picnic at Scriba Town Park.
The Pulaski Academy and Central School District’s 2013-14 school year motto “staying true to the crimson and blue” couldn’t be better exemplified than it is in PACS Middle School Principal Michael Bateson. A nearly two-decade veteran of the district, Bateson takes the reins at the Middle School as principal, but according to him, not a lot of changes will be evident at first.
The “Cow Chip Bingo” will take place on a special field that will be sectioned off into 520 square yard plots. “Deeds” are being sold for $5 for each square yard plot. Once “Poopsie” the cow is released onto the field, whoever owns the plot that “Poopsie” the cow fertilizes, they will walk away with $500.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
OHS returned to school on Wednesday as students focused on moving ahead toward a successful school year. More than 4,000 students commenced the new year in the Oswego City School District on Wednesday, September 4.
The Oswego Rotary Club hosted Gregory Callen, founder of Move Along Inc. and executive director Jeff Wright at a recent meeting. Callen spoke about his spinal cord injury in 2005 and his desire to assist others in finding resources to enable them to gain confidence and strength.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on September 22. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be macaroni and cheese, ham, vegetable and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
SUNY Oswego’s 27th annual ALANA Student Leadership Conference will launch Sept. 21, with a multicultural extravaganza — the popular fashion show — before moving on to the Unity Peace Walk, alumni panels, workshops, a banquet and more.
