The Hannibal Central School District’s PreK-8 Common Core Parent Night drew dozens of parents to the first in a series of informational meetings to help parents understand the changes that are occurring through the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
Oswego High School Class of 2013 Graduates Cameron Caruso and Lisette DuFore were named the recipients of this year’s Elmer G. Hadlow Memorial Music Scholarship, which is awarded annually to an Oswego High School student who pursues an education and/or career in music.

The celebration centered on a ribbon cutting ceremony at its newly constructed and relocated Fulton Health Center at 510 S. Fourth St., Fulton. The event included local health care, government and community representatives who toured the new facility.
The Oswego County Legislature recognized Oswego County Soil and Water Conservation District Manager John DeHollander at their August meeting. DeHollander has devoted his 35-year career to protecting and improving Oswego County’s natural resources.
The Oswego Lions Club will hold its eighth Annual “Cow Chip Bingo” fundraiser on September 14 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. This year we will once again feature the “Classic Car Show” as well as Lighthouse Lanes’ “World Famous Chicken BBQ.”
The Oswego High School varsity softball parents association will host a chicken barbeque on September 15 from 11 a.m. until sold out at Gibby’s Pub, West Second and Lake streets in Oswego. The menu includes chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, a roll, and dessert.
SUNY Oswego will offer preparatory courses for the Graduate Management Admissions Test and the Graduate Record Examination on Saturdays beginning Sept. 7 at the college’s Metro Center in downtown Syracuse.
The Oswego Public Library’s Library Learning Center will offer a four-part Introduction to Computers workshop on September 2, 9, 16 and 30. Each class is free and runs from 4 to 6 p.m.
The 20th Anniversary of the Salmon River Fine Arts Center with wine and cheese tasting, a silent auction and live music will be September 27 from 6 – 9 p.m. It will be at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center, 4848 N Jefferson St., Pulaski
