At the G. Ray Bodley High School Commencement Ceremony held in June, theatre awards were presented to two honor graduates, Amanda Trombly and Katelyn Caza. Presented in memory of Mr. William Quirk, a long-time English teacher and theatre director at both Fulton High School and G. Ray Bodley High School, the Quirk Award is presented to the graduating senior who has made the greatest contribution to the theatre program at GRB during his/her high school years.

All Oswego County government offices, including the solid waste transfer stations and recycling drop-off centers, will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day.

A full day of children’s activities, fishing seminars and outdoor programs are planned for this year’s open house on National Hunting and Fishing Day, Sept. 28, at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s Salmon River Fish Hatchery. This is the 18th annual open house at the hatchery. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The greater Fulton community is invited to participate in Sunday worship on September 1 at 10:30a.m. at Fulton’s downtown Gazebo. The service is sponsored by three congregations: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, State Street United Methodist Church, and First United Church of Fulton.

The duo of SUNY Oswego faculty member and violinist Jon Shallit with pianist Howard Spindler from the University of Rochester’s Eastman School of Music will lead off the college’s annual Focus on Faculty Series at 3 p.m. Sept. 8, in Sheldon Hall ballroom.

The Hannibal Central School District’s PreK-8 Common Core Parent Night drew dozens of parents to the first in a series of informational meetings to help parents understand the changes that are occurring through the implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Nephrology Associates of Syracuse, PC has made arrangements for a satellite office located in Oswego County at the Oswego Health Center, 10 George Street, Suite 100, Oswego. Dr. Philip Ondocin will begin seeing patients one Wednesday every other month, beginning in September.

Northern Oswego County Health Services, Inc. celebrated the upgraded facilities among its newly consolidated primary care network. The celebration centered on a ribbon cutting ceremony at its newly constructed and relocated Fulton Health Center at 510 S. Fourth St., Fulton. The event included local health care, government and community representatives who toured the new facility.
