The following local students graduated from Clarkson University on May 11:

Steve Canale, Alison Scanlon and their staff of the Press Box, will be providing the next Guest Chef Dinner for the Oswego County Salvation Army on June 11, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., for dining in or taking out, at the Citadel, 73 W. Second St.

The Fulton Police Department’s Annual Bike Rodeo is going to be held June 1 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Fulton Community Center. This free event is focused on youth bicycle education and safety and there will be other information and attractions including air hop rides and food and drinks.

Oswego’s Democratic Action Women’s Network, DAWN, is once again organizing its Eleanor Roosevelt Recognition Award event. “We’re reaching out to the community to ask their help to identify those women who exemplify the spirit of Eleanor Roosevelt and who have made a difference in the community,” said Amy Tresidder, Oswego County legislator and DAWN member.

For more than three decades, Bill Crist has been working with students and community throughout the Oswego City School District. Crist was presented a “Certificate of Recognition“ in appreciation for his service as Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resource and Personnel, Oswego Middle School Vice Principal and long-time music teacher.

There will be plenty to do this coming month at the college.

June 2 is Change the World Sunday for the congregations of Oswego Center and Southwest Oswego United Methodist churches. We will gather for worship at 10 a.m. at Southwest Oswego. From 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. we will be in mission, completing several projects in our community.

Oswego County Sheriff Reuel Todd has announced that boating safety courses will be held beginning in June. There is no charge for the training. A parent or guardian must accompany any youths ages 10 through 17 to the classroom on the first day of the course to sign a parental permission form.
