The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Transportation Department, in conjunction with the United Way of Greater Oswego County, is once again gearing up for the Stuff-A-Bus Program. 2013 will mark the 10th year of the annual Stuff-A-Bus school supply drive at APW and is a combined school and community effort to ensure that every student is prepared for school.
“FitzGibbons Insurance Athletes of the Month” for April received their $25 gift certificates for The Press Box. Involved in the presentation are Alison Scanlon of The Press Box, lacrosse player Garrett Dunsmoor, softball player Vicki Race and John FitzGibbons.
There are still spaces available for Oswego Health’s basic life support CPR classes for healthcare providers to be held on June 8. Two, four-hour sessions will be offered. The morning session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. while the afternoon class will be held from 1 to 5 p.m.
The Oswego Board of Education met Tuesday to face a large agenda. Prior to the action on business Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist and the board members recognized retiring elementary teachers Mary Ann Bullard and Rosemary Ingersoll. Committee meetings of the Board of Education are scheduled for June 4 at the Education Center Board Room beginning at 5 p.m.
Nancy Fox was honored as the first recipient of the Fulton Sunrise Rotary Community Award. Nancy is the founder, president and executive director of CNY Arts Center.
Thanks to her passion for the arts, cultural and artistic opportunities have increased in recent years.
More than 80 individuals supported Oswego Health’s cancer outreach and educational programs by taking part in the eighth annual Oswego Health Charity Walk/Run held May 18 at the Seneca Hill Health Community. The event also benefited the Fulton and Oswego YMCAs.

Oswego Hospital will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 30 in the healthcare facility’s lower level conference room. Members of the public and hospital employees are encouraged to donate a pint of blood during the drive.
