SIRSY To Appear At Jake’s Grub & Grog In Central Square
Indie Pop Rock duo SIRSY will perform at Jake’s Grub & Grog, 7 East River Road in Central Square, on June 15. SIRSY is comprised of guitarist Rich Libutti, a lover of The Beatles and Bowie, and singer/drummer Melanie Krahmer, who’s sultry and powerful voice sounds like the love child of Eartha Kitt and Superman.
Special Guest visits Helen Keller opening
Fern Schwarz, a resident of Minetto, along with her husband, John, attended the opening performance as guests of director Nancy Fox. “Fern contacted me to tell her own Helen Keller story and I knew she had to share it with everyone,” said Fox. “It was a rare opportunity for contemporary actors to speak directly to someone connected to the title character of the story. It literally brought the story to life.”
Author and Illustrator Create Book About Pet Sitting
On May 15 at 7 p.m. author Margaret Streitenberger and illustrator Jim Arnold will present their latest collaboration, Did The Cow Really Jump Over the Moon? The recently published book is the second in their “Hey Diddle Diddle” series, which captures Margaret’s experiences in her pet-sitting business.

Here in Central and Northern New York, we see yellow ribbons everywhere we go – on trees, bumper stickers, in businesses and prominently displayed outside homes. For a very long time, yellow ribbons have stood as a symbol of support and remembrance of the brave men and women who serve. To help show support for Fort Drum, its soldiers and their families, I am making special Fort Drum yellow ribbons available.

Bishop Commons Hosts Three-Part Alzheimer’s Association Workshop For Caregivers
The educational program will address symptoms associated with mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease, communication issues, providing personal care, behavior changes, medication management, home safety and other care options such as day programs or in-home care to better suit caregiver needs.
