The Oswego Lions Club will host the second annual River’s Edge “handmade” Craft Show on June 9. The event will take place on West Liner Park, right on the river’s edge, in Oswego. Hours for the show will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The first River’s Edge Craft show was a huge success!
The Oswego County District Attorney’s Office has joined forces with the National Traffic Safety Council to bring the Alive at 25 Program to Oswego County. This 4-hour driver’s awareness course is designed to educate younger drivers.
This annual event will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church Hall on Academy Street on June 8 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. The proceeds from this annual fundraiser go to fund nine scholarships to high school students throughout the Oswego County school districts.
Each year in the U.S., approximately 30,000 young people leave the foster care system without lifelong families. Devoted foster parents are making great efforts to change the life of a child or youth in foster care by providing them with the security and stability that they need.
The Oswego County Health Department holds a rabies clinic for dogs, cats and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. June 5 at the West Monroe Town Highway Garage on county Route 11. New York State law requires that all dogs, cats and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies.
The Oswego Public Library recently added a hundred children’s books in preparation for a great summer of reading! The theme this summer will be Dig Into Reading and many exciting activities and contests will be taking place upstairs at the library, 120 E. Second St.
Charisse Kidd, president of the Fulton Noon Rotary Club, thanked Rotarian William Lynch for his presentation on how a school budget is developed and what it means in educational outcomes for our students. Superintendent of Schools Lynch explained how and why it costs so much for a community like ours to educate our students.
Storytelling participants at Fairgrieve Elementary School vied for the opportunity to represent their school at the Fulton City School District Storytelling Festival.
The Human Concerns Center would like to thank both postal employees and community members for their participation in the May 11 “Stamp Out Hunger” letter carrier food drive. The event is the largest one-day food drive in the world. It allows every resident in the county and across the nation to donate food that ultimately stays within the community to help its needy neighbors.
