Hibernians Hold Cleanup Day at Irish Cemetery

The group of 21 staff, students, and chaperones visited such notable sights as Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Stonehenge, the Tower of London, and even the sights in London associated with the Harry Potter book series.
A new youth athletic event will be making a big splash in the Oswego community this upcoming June 15th, in conjunction with the 2013 Tri-Oswego Triathlon, according to Tri-Oswego Race Director Shane Broadwell.
The Oswego Lions Club is still seeking vendors for its upcoming Rivers Edge Craft Show. The event is slated for June 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on West Linear Park, in Oswego. There is still space available for vendors.
The Oswego City School District Board of Education will conduct a regular business meeting at the Education Center Board Room on Wednesday. Originally, this meeting was scheduled for April 23, but the date was changed during the April 9 session.
The Leadership Oswego County class has decided to take its mission, to connect seniors in the community, one step further. They’re recruiting volunteers at various senior living facilities to participate in a pen pal project. Each participant will fill out a questionnaire. Members of the class will pair up those who appear to have the same interests.
The Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning is sponsoring a photo contest for the visitor guide, which will be distributed at trade and travel shows, travel information centers, festivals, events, and businesses over the next two years.
The event is also supported by the Oswego and Fulton YMCAs. The paved course at the Seneca Hill Campus is a certified 3.1- (5K) mile course for runners and walkers. There is also a 1.5-mile course for walkers. In addition, the unpaved nature trail walk will be available.
Oswego Players director Inez Manor Parker will be holding auditions for the organization’s 75th anniversary summer musical, “Mame.” The show is based on the popular 1955 novel, “Auntie Mame,” written by Patrick Dennis, and a 1956 Broadway adaptation starring Rosalind Russell.
New York State law requires that all cats, dogs, and pet ferrets be vaccinated against rabies. The first rabies vaccine should be given at three months of age. A second vaccination is required for cats and dogs within one year of the first, and every three years thereafter.
