The Misfits, a family band from Orwell will be appearing at the North Volney Methodist Church on May 18. This is a free gospel concert featuring bluegrass, country and southern gospel. Also appearing will be the 4Given Strangers. The bands donate their time to this event so a free will offering will be taken to help them with expenses.
Steve Chirello, owner of Chirello Advertising, served as a judge for the 2013 State University of New York Council for University Advancement (SUNYCUAD) Award of Excellence category for Community Relations Programs. This is the fifth time Chirello has served as a judge for this competition.
Oswego County Opportunities’ Education Services is joining others around the world in recognizing World Book Night. Established in the U.K. in 2011 and introduced in the U.S. in 2012, World Book Night is held annually on April 23, Shakespeare’s birthday.
