The Bristol Hill Congregational United Church of Christ will celebrate its 200th anniversary with a tent revival and chicken barbecue on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 1:00 P.M. to approximately 6:45 P.M.

On Sept. 21, Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County will hold its 6th Annual Diane Falise Memorial Scrabble Fest. One of Oswego County’s most entertaining fundraisers, Scrabble Fest offers devotees of the game Scrabble the opportunity to enjoy an evening of friendly competition, and more.

Participants in Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s CYO Summer Drop-in Recreation Program learned about Australia as part of Outback Week. Each week throughout the summer features games and activities related to that week’s theme.

A picnic was held for Jim and Carol Zender while they were here in Parish visiting from Florida on July 21 at the home of Harvey and Venita Ackley. They were able to visit with many of their 1956 classmates and other friends from their school years.

What began as a little fun between a retired superintendent of schools at Bishop’s Commons and a group of children at Little Lukes has grown into a partnership of correspondence between two parties encouraging reading and writing throughout the summer months and a lesson plan for all ages on the St. Luke Campus.

G. Ray Bodley High School seniors are reminded that retakes for their Fultonian yearbook senior portraits will be taking place on Aug. 28 at the high school. School Pictures of Rochester will be at GRB from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the GRB auditorium.

Stacie Roberts, coordinator of the CYO program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County, has announced that AmeriCorps Members, Max Fobes and Melissa DeStevens-Valenzuela have joined the staff of Catholic Charities’ CYO program.
