The SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center will offer a Women’s Empowerment Series, a quarterly, mini-retreat-style workshop to help women create balance in their personal and professional lives, beginning in September.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meeting, Majors James and Kathryn Purvis were introduced. Jim and Kathy, with the Salvation Army for 23 years, are the recently appointed executive directors of the Salvation Army for Oswego County, a pilot program and the first in New York State.

On August 16 from 7-9 p.m., the glade at Mexico Point Park off of 104B in the Town of Mexico will be transported to the days of Merry Olde England.

A new tradition began at Discovery Day Care – Summer Olympics! Sparked by a preschool parent, Mr. Balcom, this idea became the highlight of the summer and drew a large crowd of parents and grandparents.

Fulton YMCA is happy to announce its partnership with Red Baron Pizza for the Loop Around the Lake Kid’s Fun! The fun run is geared for children ages 4-12 and will offer the following distances; for 5 and under 70 yards, 6-7 year olds the ¼ mile, 8-9 year olds ½ mile and 10-12 year olds the 1 mile  distances.

There will be a special event at North Mexico Church on August 5. Along with their famous barbecue meal there will be live music with Ken Helmer and Jeff Lamirande.

Recently, a Rotary District Grant was awarded to the Fulton Public Library. This grant was matched by Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club. The grant supports a computer for the library which will be dedicated to education and employment searching.
