The State University of New York at New Paltz recently conferred over 1,000 undergraduate degrees. Emily Pryor, a resident of Oswego, was among the university’s graduates.

More than 200 horses have now been vaccinated through the program, in which Senator Ritchie partnered with local veterinarians in Oswego and St. Lawrence County to safeguard horses from the virus that killed at least 11 horses in Central and Northern New York last summer.

The evening will commence with the oath of office being given to Lynda Sereno and Thomas DeCastro and will be followed by the election of president and vice-president.

Oswego County Legislator Terry Wilbur presented a proclamation to Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County and the Oswego County Dairy Promotion Committee designating June as Dairy Month.

The Ice Cream Social, which is always a highlight of the summer in Oswego Town, will be held July 10 at 6 p.m. at the Oswego Town Park. The park is located next to the Town Hall on 22320 County Route 7.

The Oswego Public Library returns to summer hours this week and will be closed on Sundays until after Labor Day. It will also be closed on Wednesday, July 4 for the holiday.

Hilary Ann Callen of Oswego was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Denison by President Dale Thomas Knobel.

Parents and kids can learn together what measures to take to ensure safety on the Internet at home and elsewhere by attending a three-part series, Internet Safety for Parents and Kids, at Oswego Public Library’s Public Computing Center.
