The State Senate today passed a bill, cosponsored by State Senator Patty Ritchie, that repeals a mandate that forces businesses to waste money creating and storing millions of pieces of useless paperwork.

The CNY Arts Center presented a writing class for 10-14 year olds during the President’s Week Break, February 20 – 24.

Five bands from Ohio, Everyday Sunday, All Things New, Nate Feurstien, Grant Woell and Cry of the Scape goat from Binghamton will be playing a concert to benefit area charities. The concert will take place on March 16, at 6 p.m. at the Hannibal Middle School.

Debbie Engelke won a ticket to “A Titanic Affair”  through the H. Lee White Marine Museum’s annual benefit drawing last fall. This year marks the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of this famous ship. The gala will be held on April 14 at the American Foundry

When it comes to appreciating the importance of volunteering, no one understands it better than the United Way of Greater Oswego County. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the United Way and play a major role in success of many of its initiatives and annual campaign.

By collecting pennies and buying paper pennies for $1, students were able to raise $1,739.39 to support the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

“This is our silver anniversary this year, and it will be particularly unique,” said Bernie Henderson, co-chair of the event. “In fact, we will be auctioning some sterling and plated silver items in honor of our milestone.”

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I—Pulaski) recently presented Irving Candee, left, with a New York State Assembly Citation. Candee has served the Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department for 60 years.
