Retired Teacher Comes Back to Read to Students

Mrs. Kathleen Callahan, a retired second grade teacher from Granby Elementary, returned to school recently to serve as a guest reader for students in Tom Briggs and Reenie Distin's classes.  Mrs. Callahan read the story Ming Lo Moves the Mountain by Arnold Lobel.  The students recognized the author as they were reading another story by him in their reading textbooks.  Following the story the second graders asked Mrs. Callahan questions about her role as a teacher as well as her interests. ARC of Oswego Gets SU Tix from EmPower

Scott Arnold and Joe Bonacquisti, participants in ARC of Oswego County’s Social Recreation program, receive deeply discounted SU football tickets from EmPower Federal Credit Union representative Lisa Bradshaw. Scott, Joe, and a number of other adults with disabilities will be enjoying prime seats for the Syracuse University football game this Saturday thanks to the credit union, as well as participating in a pre-game tailgate party. ARC of Oswego County is a private not-for-profit that has been providing services to individuals with disabilities since 1955. The Social Recreation program engages adults with disabilities in a variety of leisure activities, allowing participants to explore interests in a peer group and promote community inclusion.Scott Arnold and Joe Bonacquisti, participants in ARC of Oswego County’s Social Recreation program, receive deeply discounted SU football tickets from EmPower Federal Credit Union representative Lisa Bradshaw.
