The Art Association of Oswego is now accepting entries for the 13th Annual Lakeside Statewide Juried Art Exhibition.

New York Sea Grant and the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY-ESF) have issued a series of seven fact sheets focused on the preferred habitats, risks to and tips for improving habitats for three species of fish: Northern pike, muskellunge (musky) and walleye.

“Scrabble Fest is a great way for community members to help make a difference in Oswego County.”, said Rhonda Hutchins, Pathfinder Bank and chairperson of this year’s Silent Auction committee. “Seeing the creativity among the teams for the “team uniform” contest is great! I can’t wait to see what crazy ideas they come up with this year!”

This club will meet at Fairgrieve Elementary in Fulton from 3:15-4:45 pm on Wednesdays in the cafeteria. The first meeting will be held on March 3, 2010.

Natural beauty, a lakeside recreational playground, a unique and fragile environmental resource – all this and more are the focus of the new documentary “Barrier Dunes of Eastern Lake Ontario” set to premier on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 3pm and 10:30pm on WCNY-TV Channel 24 and Time Warner Digital Channel 850.

The discovery of the Great Lakes’ oldest confirmed shipwreck – a British warship used in the American Revolution – is the keynote presentation for the March 6, 2010 Great Lakes Underwater conference at SUNY Oswego.

The awards recognize graduates of the college who have distinguished themselves in careers or community service.
