Some of Volney Elementary’s youngest students recently welcomed Dental Health Solutions employees, in celebration of February as Children’s Dental Health Month.

Lanigan Elementary students were recently celebrated for their participation in the school’s annual Battle of the Books competition.

Degree-seeking undergraduate students are eligible for Dean’s List if their term GPA is greater than or equal to 3.400; they do not have any grades of “Incomplete”, “D” or “F”

The Fulbright Program recently named SUNY Oswego to its 2018-19 list of top producers of successful applicants for Fulbright U.S. Student awards — recognition that the college’s advisor for such fellowships called “tremendously valuable.”

For the first time in a few years, the Fitzhugh Park Elementary School Battle of the Books third and fourth grade event required tie-breaker questions before a winning team was announced.

Kindergarten registration for the Oswego City School District will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 25 through March 1 at the education center, 1 Buccaneer Blvd.

During the fall semester, SUNY Oswego students in English composition, screenwriting, cinematography and film editing, graphic design, creative writing, cinema production and photography engaged in a variety of research, writing and producing assignments designed to promote the H. Lee White Maritime Museum through social media and podcasts.

Jim Farfaglia was the guest speaker at Oswego Rotary Club this week. He is a retired classroom and outdoor education teacher. In retirement, he is fulfilling his lifelong interest in writing.
