The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on November 25, serving from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu, subject to change, will be goulash, salad, bread, and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.

‘A Christmas Story’ Opens December 1

The Oswego Players’ latest production, the holiday classic Jean Shepard’s “A Christmas Story,” opens December 1 for a two-weekend run. A Christmas Story tells the familiar tale of Ralphie and his quest for a Red Ryder BB gun and his family’s yuletide adventures, growing up in 1940 Gary, Indiana.

Organized by church members Evelyn Baldwin and Darlene Parsons the show is held in memory of past member Kay Godden, who passed away several years ago from breast cancer.

SUNY Oswego Awards Presidential Scholarships To Area Residents

SUNY Oswego has awarded Presidential Scholarships to a select group of area students who started at the college in fall 2018. The college honored more than 850 incoming students with merit scholarships.

Oswego Hospital Awarded Leapfrog A

Oswego Hospital has once again earned the distinction of the top letter grade of ‘A’ for hospital safety, awarded by The Leapfrog Group. Only eight percent of the hospitals in New York State earned an ‘A’ as part of the fall 2018 survey. Oswego Hospital is also the only facility in an 80-mile area to earn the top letter grade of A.

The 4th Annual Trinity Turkey Trot Planned

The 4th Annual Trinity Turkey Trot, 5K Family Fun Run/Walk will be held on Sunday, November 18 at 12:30 p.m. at the Ancient Order of Hibernians. We welcome participants of all ages. We are also pleased, once again, to offer the “Gobble Waddle Kid’s Run” for children 8 and younger.

Anna Lentzer Has Works Featured in SUNY Potsdam ‘Art Attack’ Show

Works by 18 SUNY Potsdam student artists will be on display during the College’s annual juried show, “Art Attack,” opening Nov. 15 and showing through Dec. 8. The featured student artists include Anna Lentzer of Mexico.
