Join the VOW Foundation and a number of local service providers on Saturday, October 13, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. Porky and Buddy Pet Health – Grooming Tips For Long-Haired Cats

A stray cat showed up at my door last week, very pretty, very friendly. I posted her on Facebook, let all the local groomers and vets know and checked with all the nearby neighbors to see if I could find her owner, but no luck so far. She is long-haired and I have never had the “pleasure” of a long-haired cat.

Spaghetti On Menu For CNY Arts Center Fundraiser

With renovations under way at the new Community Arts Center in Fulton, several fall fundraisers have been planned in the continuing bid to fund the project. Coming next, a spaghetti dinner and basket raffle have been planned for October 14 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 57 Pierce Drive in Fulton.

FASNY Reminds New Yorkers To Test Smoke Alarms

Fire Prevention Month is under way, and Fire Prevention Week is Oct 7-13. The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York is urging New Yorkers to take note of basic fire safety tips and advice that can help save lives.

International concert pianist and SUNY Oswego music professor Robert Auler will present a concert of favorite works at 3 p.m. Oct. 21, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom. The Focus on Faculty Series performance will feature the works of Mozart, Bach-Busoni, Schumann, Carter Pann and more.
